Boat License/Registration

Boat license/registration may be renewed online or purchased in person at the Blount County Courthouse or at the Hayden Annex. The Outdoor Alabama Website will guide you through the online process. If you are a current boat owner and wish to renew your license in person, please bring the following:

1. Previous registration receipt or,
2. AL Number copied from the side of the boat
3. Alabama Driver License

If you are registering a boat for the first time please bring the following:

1. Previous registration if the boat is used
2. Bill of Sale for a new or used boat
3. Alabama Driver License

You will not receive a boat renewal notice by mail. Because boat license renewals coincide with vehicle tag renewals, please allow your vehicle tag renewal to serve as a reminder that it is also time to renew your boat license.
