PRESS RELEASE: April 3, 2020
In order to make every effort to protect the health and well-being of Blount County residents from the current coronavirus pandemic, The Blount County Commission has decided to close county facilities to the public through April 30, 2020. Personnel will continue to be available at the Probate Office to address emergencies and serve the public via telephone and web-based services.
Governor Kay Ivey, working in conjunction with the Alabama State Officer Dr. Scott Harris, has ordered the citizens of Alabama to remain in their place of residence except to perform certain essential activities. This Order may be accessed at www.alabamapublichealth.gov along with many other informational materials designed to provide for your health and safety.
We encourage each person to carefully follow the directives of Governor Ivey and our state and local health department officials and we will overcome this crisis together.
